Trail Trees Cut

Brantford currently has some laws and development plans containing "Core Natural Areas". The only problem is these core natural areas appear to have little protection from land development despite being important for the surrounding environment.

This area along a trail near the south-east edge of Brantford was marked as a core natural area, furthermore these trees were a big part of the trail and the surrounding area. Almost all of the trees were cut and removed despite being marked as green-space/core natural area.

As can be seen in the images there were a fair amount of trees there and most are gone now
Here are some images of some locations before and after

And more that were cut that I do not have images from before

Certain locations get revised plans, which means core natural areas can still be at risk. Moreover, the laws for core natural areas appear to be limited in the protection they give for the areas. This is why all green areas need to have better preservation and protection laws.
